The Executive Committee (PLO EC) is the highest executive body of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), and the government of the State of Palestine.〔(''Abbas confirms resignation from PLO Executive Committee'' ). As of 2015, the EC was headed by Mahmud Abbas, who had succeeded Yasser Arafat, after his death in 2004.
